Background:
In 1962 a group of designers and art directors come together to celebrate creative communication and raise standards within their industry.
Amongst the group are David Bailey, Terence Donovan and Alan Fletcher. They called themselves British Design & Art Direction and the following year they created their first awards event. By 2011 the British Design & Art Direction has grown mightily, but slimmed down its name. Now D&AD its members represent the creative, design and advertising communities, not just in Britain, but Worldwide.
In 2012 D&AD celebrated their 50th year anniversary.
The New Blood Exhibiton is open to the public, it also targets graduate students stating that they can take part in many different events during the festival. The festival includes events such as: workshops, tours, talks, face offs and pub quiz's.
